Communicating research beyond an academic audience can be challenging and often holds less appeal to researchers than being published in a peer reviewed journal or presenting at an academic conference.
Funding organisations such as the European Commission and Science Foundation Ireland are placing increasing importance on science communication and public engagement. With this in mind Sabina Brennan will share her experiences of sharing science with the wider public.
She will share her experience leading national and international projects specifically funded for the purposes of communication and others where the communication outputs were dissemination deliverables as part of more traditional research projects. Sabina will also offer insights from research evaluating some of the science communication films developed in the projects.
