MEET SABINA BRENNAN

My Mission

I became a psychologist and a neuroscientist out of a fascination with the human brain and behaviour. I’m on a mission to help you understand how your brain works so you can better understand how you work and achieve your true potential. I do this through my talks, my books, my podcast and as an expert contributor in print and on radio and TV.

ADVOCACY and Research

Driving Brain Health Through Science and Service

I’m a chartered health psychologist, neuroscientist and award-winning science communicator. I’m passionate about helping people understand how their brains work – so they can feel better, think more clearly and live more fully. Through my best-selling books, talks and the Super Brain podcast, I translate cutting-edge neuroscience into practical tools that anyone can use to thrive in everyday life.

Before stepping fully into writing and public engagement, I directed a major dementia research programme at Trinity College Dublin, where I also led Brain Fit, a large-scale study exploring the links between brain health, lifestyle, genomics and dementia risk. I’ve advised the Irish Government and the UK All-Party Parliamentary Group on Longevity and have been the Irish national representative on the Scientific and Medical Advisory Panel for Alzheimer’s Disease International.

Advocacy has been a big part of my work. I have volunteered on several committees and advisory boards and collaborated with NGOs, government bodies and community organisations to promote brain health and ageing well. I’ve been honoured to receive awards for my science communication and for the societal impact of my work.

I’m also a regular guest on radio and TV, and I love speaking at events—bringing science to life with warmth, clarity and more than the occasional laugh. I was born Dublin and lived there until 2021 when I made a big move to the country where I can balance my ‘brain’ work with time spent in nature. I now live on the shores of Lough Sillan in Co Cavan with my husband and three dogs, Dizzy, Dolly and Honey B. I’m just an hour from Dublin but a world away in terms of peace, tranquility and natural beauty.
